Meet Cherie

Cherie Vollmer is not a new face in Twin Falls — she was born and raised here and carries with her the values and traditions that make the Magic Valley strong. A proud graduate of Twin Falls High School, she went on to attend the College of Southern Idaho and later obtained her Bachelor’s degree from Western Governors University. Cherie knows what it means to grow up in a community built on hard work, family, and service.

After spending a decade in the Houston area working in Human Resources and Real Estate while raising her two daughters, Cherie returned home to Idaho — the place she has always considered her true home. Since then, she has built a career as a Realtor and devoted countless hours to community service. She currently serves on the Twin Falls City Council, where she sees firsthand how state decisions directly affect our neighborhoods, families, and local businesses.

Cherie’s commitment to service is rooted in her family and her faith in the Magic Valley community. She has served on the Twin Falls Historic Preservation Commission, the Greater Twin Falls Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, and is active in the Optimist Club, Rotary Club, and Twin Falls Optimist Youth House. These roles have given her a broad perspective on the opportunities and challenges facing our community today.

As a mom, grandma, Realtor, and council member, Cherie brings a unique and trusted voice to the table. She understands the importance of affordable housing, strong public safety, and preserving Idaho values for the next generation. Her deep roots and proven service mean that when Cherie Vollmer speaks, she speaks for the people of Twin Falls.

Why I'm Running

I am running because I believe the Magic Valley deserves a genuine voice—one that listens to our citizens here at home and works every day for the people who live and work here, not for outside interests.

Life in Idaho should be affordable for seniors, families, and individuals alike. Too many are struggling to stretch their paychecks, and I want to make sure our state government focuses on practical solutions that ease the burden on households right here in our community.

I also believe safe communities are the foundation of a strong Idaho. I will continue to support our first responders, uphold our Second Amendment rights, and ensure that our neighborhoods remain places where families feel secure.

Strong communities also depend on responsible leadership. That means keeping Idaho secure with smart—but lean—regulation that allows businesses and families to thrive without unnecessary government overreach.

Finally, we must safeguard one of our most precious resources: water. Protecting our water for farmers, ranchers, and municipalities isn’t just about today—it’s about preserving the future of our communities and way of life for generations to come.

I am committed to listening, to leading with integrity, and to standing up for the Magic Valley values that make this place home. Together, we can build a future that is affordable, safe, and sustainable for all Idahoans.

Priorities

Building a Strong Local Economy

As a longtime resident and current Twin Falls City Council member, Cherie understands how important it is to keep our economy thriving for local families and businesses. She knows firsthand that decisions made in Boise ripple quickly through the Magic Valley, shaping everything from housing costs to the strength of our small businesses. That’s why she is committed to championing policies that grow jobs right here at home, support our agriculture community, and keep the Magic Valley moving forward. She believes in an economy where families can afford to live, work, and stay in the community they love.

Keeping Life Affordable for Families

Families across Twin Falls county are feeling the pinch of higher costs — from groceries and housing to property taxes. As a Realtor, Cherie works every day with families who are struggling to find affordable homes, and as a City Council member she sees the direct impact of rising expenses on hardworking Idahoans. She knows that affordability isn’t just about numbers on a spreadsheet — it’s about whether families can put down roots and plan for the future here. Cherie is committed to protecting taxpayers, fighting for policies that make housing more attainable, and ensuring that families can continue to build their lives in the Magic Valley without being priced out.

Public Safety First

As a City Council member, Cherie sees firsthand how the safety of our neighborhoods depends on strong support for local law enforcement and clear, consistent policies from the state. She knows that when Boise overlooks the needs of our communities, it puts strain on officers and leaves families feeling less secure. Cherie will always fight to ensure our law enforcement has the tools and resources to keep Twin Falls and the Magic Valley safe. She also believes secure borders are vital to public safety and to protecting Idaho families. With Cherie, law and order will remain a top priority.

Idaho Values, Not Out-of-State Interests

Too often, state policy is driven by out-of-state organizations with agendas that don’t fit Idaho’s way of life. As someone born and raised in Twin Falls, Cherie has lived the values that make the Magic Valley strong — family, faith, hard work, and community. On City Council, she has already proven that when she needs answers, she asks the people most affected — her neighbors, local business owners, and community leaders — not distant special interests. In the legislature, she will carry forward that same commitment: Idaho decisions should be made by Idahoans.

A Conservative Voice for the Magic Valley

Cherie understands that the choices made in Boise impact families in the Magic Valley every day — from housing affordability to how tax dollars are spent. As a Realtor, she sees the struggle families face in finding affordable homes. As a City Council member, she knows the importance of fiscal discipline and wise investment. And as a mom and grandma, she feels a deep responsibility to protect a safe, affordable future for the next generation. In the legislature, Cherie will be a conservative, common-sense voice, working to keep Idaho secure and prosperous for our kids and grandkids.

Protecting the Idaho Way of Life

Cherie knows that the Magic Valley is more than just a place — it’s a way of life built on community, service, and shared values. She has spent her life working alongside neighbors in service clubs, on local boards, and now on the City Council. She understands what makes this region special, and she is determined to protect it. That means standing up for local law enforcement, ensuring public safety, defending Idaho values, and making sure our future is shaped by the voices of Idahoans, not outside interests. Cherie will be a steady, conservative voice for the Magic Valley, working to keep our community strong for generations to come.
